The object of the Society is to promote the art and the science of music, by the presentation of concerts and other activities. In other words, to provide top quality entertainment whilst catering for a wide age range throughout the season.
The Society runs four or five concerts throughout the year featuring a wide variety of music to cater for most tastes. From jazz to classics, choral to instrumental, you will always find something for your listening pleasure.
The venue is St Mary's church, Braughing which was consecrated around 1220. It was one of the three ancient Minster churches of East Hertfordshire. The present building was constructed through the 13th to the 15th centuries and is a fine example of an 'old English church'.
We have a tremendous advantage over other venues of this type - the acoustics are phenomenally good. The arrangement of the internal architecture of the church provides excellent feedback to the performers whilst delivering stunning sound to the audience no echo effects!
Why not come and experience it for yourself?
